On the side of Kanjeran Beach |
Almost four
days I stayed at Surabaya, the capital city of East Java. On my first day I
stayed at The Life Hotels, Only a half hours from Surabaya Gubeng station.
Perhaps, I’m just ‘a village girl’ lol, I really suprised seeing so many
skyscrappers around me. That’s feel like “Oh My God, this town so fantastic
like in a movie! I never dream to come here, but ya I’m here.” On my way to
hotel, a gojek driver asked me, what’s the difference between Surabaya and
Jogja? And yah I said like I seen before, Surabaya has so many skyscrapper and
larger road than Jogja. It was 3 pm so I didn’t see traffic jam at that time. After I had been arriving at Hotel, I got my
room at 7th floor. Lucky me! I could saw the city over here. The hotel where I
stayed, located in the middle of city so it was easy to move.
Unfortunately,
I only stayed there once night. It doesn’t matter, bcause I prefer to stayed on
my friends dorm. So, at second day, after I have checked out, I tried to found
my friends dorm. Before gone, my boyfriend who stayed in Surabaya kindly
borrowed me a motorcycle. Wuhuu lucky me again! (he had to worked so he
couldn’t accompany me L
).
Trust me,
Google maps is a worth application which your phone should have!!! Cause it
helps me a lot! Almost one hours I have been searching my friends dorm. And
being calm was a best choice, my friends dorm was soooooo far away for me. The
sun shone so bright above my head, so I decided to took a rest and bought a
food. Soto lamongan was my favorite and I found one in the side of road.
First weird
things I found in Surabaya was the food. Probably this was usual for you guys
as a local people in there, but for me it made my tongue tasted some strong
thick soup from the Soto. It was different for me. And yups the price a little
bit expensive tho.
Okay, shortly,
I found my friends dorm. Ikha welcomed me warmly, her dorm located near
wonokromo station, and it was so far from my hotel before. I spend a half day just layed on her bed. You
had to know that Surabaya was a hot city (it means the sun shone firmly, there
was no cloud above the skies!) it can made your skin more darker than before,
lol.
Time to picked
up my boyfriend at his office hahaha. Before gone, I have been searching his
office, that’s right! Google maps helped me absolutely! Needed almost 45
minutes from wonokromo to gunung sari area (my bofriend’s office). I left
Ikha’s dorm before the rain comes. A fact that I don’t know before, even the
road was large, traffic jam happen in every street where I throught.
Suddenly the
rain came and I had to use my raincoat. Unfortunatelyyyy guys, a much water
flooded my way. That was disgusting, a water like chocolate milk flooded with noisy
smell. I don’t like that actually.
Okayh, Let me
told you about my third day. I thought that was my first experience to travel
alone, lol. I stared my trip to took Nuha at his office on Villa Bukit Mas, and
you know guys, that place located on the west side of Surabaya and I was
staying on the South side of Surabaya. Oke! Shortly, I’ve took Nuha and timed
to me to continue my trip. My motorcycle rode fastly to Kanjeran Beach. It
located on the East side of Surabaya, man! Such a struggle! But enjoyed a trip
was my passion hahaa! I have rode almost one hours used google maps as always.
Once things you should know when you drive ur vehicle was you should to obey
the traffic sign. The weird things tho was I had to turn around when I found a intersection.
You should do these! It a must boy! And for you who rode motorcycle don’t tried
to pass th flyover or you gonna met a man who dressed green coat. I hated them
actually!
After one
hours on the road I found the Kanjeran beach which known dragon statue as their
landmark. But poor me! It closed with Imlek so that atraction not opened for
public L
it’s okay I still enjoy the new Surabaya bridges! Was so fun over there!

I decided to
continue my trip to the Northeast of Surabaya, tried a longer bridge which
connected Surabaya and Madura’s Island. People called it ‘Suramadu Bridge’.
And fyi,
sometimes google maps doesn’t work better. It will brought you to strange area.
Like on my way to Suramadu, I’ve been passed a slum area, I’ve seen a river
with so many rubbish and had a green colour, you knowed guys, that was so
smellll smell bad, bad for your nose!!! I was little bit scared, but I still
keeped on my way. Ah finally I throught the longest bridge in Java and stand on
Madura’s Island. ALONE! That was cool man! Feel the air blow your body hardly
on the bridge. Wuhuuuw fantastic!!!

Not longer I
was there, I directly went to my friends dorm in the North side of Surabaya,
perak barat district. She was my best friend from high school and got her
internship on there. After I met her, I continue to picked up my boyfriend at
his office! Yah, that days I around Surabaya from south to west, west to east,
east to north and back again to south! Was really tired day! However, that was
great experience I’ve ever done! See ya guys on my next Journey!
Salute,
